The real estate industry in Cochin contributes significantly towards the growth of the city. Numerous realty players have entered the city and developed large residential properties. The IT and ITES related industries are gaining prominence owing to the availability of cheap bandwidth through undersea cables. A number of technology and industrial campuses such as Info Park, Cochin Special Economic Zone and KINFRA Export Promotion Industrial Park, Smart City at Kakkanad and Cyber City are either underway or complete. This has also led to an increase in the demand for residential as well as commercial space in the city.
